Artist Statement

Born in England, Stefan Ennals spent most of his younger life growing up and living in Brussles, Belgium before moving to Manchester to pursue a University Degree in International Hotel Management. From here he worked in Paris, France, and Ontario, Canada before returning to Europe this time to the Netherlands to join the Netherlands Institute for MBA studies. This in turn led to a career in International Marketing working for Multinationals in Italy, France, and eventually across the Atlantic to North America.

During his time living in diverse countries and mingling with such different cultures, Ennals was influenced by art and culture particularly during his stints in the Netherlands, France and Italy. He admired modern impressionists, such as Cezanne, Van Gogh and Monet and although without a camera began to take mental images of the beauty, the art and the differences in cultures.

Photography was always a passion and a small stint during high school working in the dark room developing black and white film gave Ennals his first taste into the world of photography. Due to unfortunate circumstances his first SLR Camera kit was stolen at a young age and from this point onwards Ennals did not return to pro-sumer photography until late 2006.

Influenced by the likes of Yousuf Karsch, Herb Ritts , Albert Watson, Ennals decided to pursue his passion working with a local photographer and joining the community college for some instruction in various facets of photography. He continues to build his portfolio hoping to pursue his goal as a talented commercial advertising and fashion editorial photographer.
